The PA chairman strengthens Majed Faraj’s position in the succession battle

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas changed the Palestinian Basic Law to allow Majed Faraj, the head of general intelligence, to remain in his post indefinitely.
His decision arouses great anger at the top of Fatah and it is interpreted as a move designed to strengthen Majed Faraj in the succession battle, Fatah sources say that Israel, the US and the European Union are behind the decision.
