The PFLP terror organization was founded in December 1967 by George Habash and Wadia Haddad and from then until today it has carried out hundreds of terrorist attacks in which hundreds of Israeli citizens were murdered, among its famous acts of terrorism the massacre at Lod Airport and the murder of Minister Rechavam Zeevi (Gandhi).
The organization advocates the “liberation of all of Palestine” through armed struggle and the establishment of a Palestinian and secular state.
After the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993, the organization continued to carry out terrorist attacks despite being part of the PLO, which recognized the State of Israel and pledged to stop terrorist activities. The organization opposed
the Oslo Accords and strongly criticized the PLO, however, it participated in the elections for the Palestinian Parliament in 2006 .
Then the Popular Front organization accepted the principle of the establishment of two states and the possibility of negotiations with Israel despite its opposition to the Oslo Accords.
It seems now that the positions of the organization have become radicalized again as a result of the wave of terrorism that has plagued the West Bank in recent months and the rise of the right-wing to power in Israel.
Last May, Dr. Jamil Mouzher was elected to the position of Deputy Secretary General of the Popular Front, as we recall, Secretary General Ahmed Sa’adat is under arrest in Israel for his involvement in the murder of Minister Rechvam Zeevi.
At an event marking the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Popular Front organization,
Mouzher gave a speech in which he announced the return of his organization to its previous strategy, which is the destruction of the State of Israel.
“We have taken the acceptance of solutions in stages off the table”, Mouzher announced, adding that Russia’s war in Ukraine “will lay the foundations for the end of American control over the Arab world”.
In an interview
with the Lebanese newspaper “al-Akhbar” on December 13, he said
” We noticed that the stages solution was a gateway to making further concessions to Israel, which stepped on the Oslo agreement and today wants to annex the entire West Bank”.
“Therefore, we say today that we are with all of Palestine, all of Palestine from the river to the sea, the Zionist entity is a gathering brought from all over the world to establish a homeland on the ruins of the Palestinian people”.
He referred to the reconciliation efforts of Algeria, which mediates between the Palestinian factions, and said that “the key is in the hands of Abu Mazen, who can initiate it”.
He came out against PLO Chairman Abu Mazen’s condition for reconciliation that all Palestinian factions agree to the conditions of the international community which are recognition of Israel, condemnation of terrorism and acceptance of the agreements signed between Israel and the PLO.
He praised Syria’s position towards the Palestinians and the reconciliation
of the Assad regime with Hamas and said that the meeting of President Bashar Assad with the representatives of the Palestinian factions in Damascus, including representatives of Hamas, is the beginning of restoring relations between the Syrian regime and the Hamas movement.
He also referred to the establishment of the new government in Israel and said that it is not different
from its predecessors,” The PA must understand that it aims to dismantle the PA and turn it into village associations that will serve the security of the Israeli occupation”.
He estimated that the current wave of terrorism in the West Bank is a new intifada that will only grow stronger.
The PFLP organization aligns itself with the Hamas movement and re-adopts its ideology, which is similar to Hamas’ ideology regarding the destruction of the State of Israel and the denial of the negotiation option.
The Palestinian terrorist organizations are encouraged by the consequences of the war in Ukraine and the rapprochement between Russia, Iran and China, they estimate that this will lead to the end of American influence in the Middle East, the weakening of Israel and the strengthening of the Palestinian factions.
