The International Coalition to Break the Blockade on the Gaza Strip is orchestrating this initiative, which will feature a significant international naval flotilla comprising ships and boats.
Departing from Turkey, this flotilla will represent numerous countries worldwide, advocating for the lifting of the blockade and the consistent provision of food to Gaza’s inhabitants.
Organizers are strategizing methods to navigate past the Israeli Navy to ensure the success of the protest flotilla.
Their goal is to convey messages of solidarity with Gaza to various nations, including Turkey, Egypt, and Western countries.
Lessons have been learned from past incidents, notably the “Marmara” flotilla in May 2010, where Israeli naval commandos forcefully took control of the ship.
Tragically, this resulted in the deaths of nine passengers and injuries to twenty others who had attempted to resist.
Over eleven international organizations are participating in the upcoming flotilla scheduled for April 14.
Vessels will not only set sail from Turkey but also depart from ports in different countries, converging in the open sea.
A large ship laden with food supplies and humanitarian aid will be accompanied by dozens of activists advocating for the end of the blockade.
While the primary objective is to approach Gaza’s shores and unload humanitarian aid, organizers have no plans to attempt reaching the floating pier currently being established by the American military in the north of the Gaza Strip.
There’s speculation that humanitarian supplies may be transferred from the ship to smaller boats dispatched from Gaza’s shores.
However, it remains uncertain whether the Israeli Navy, patrolling the area, will permit such actions.
