Al-Aqsa Mosque Regains Headline Attention

The Al-Aqsa Mosque has once again grabbed headlines, with the Hamas movement warning Israel that any damage to the mosque will be a “red line” that, if crossed, could lead to a dangerous escalation. This warning comes in response to a plan put forward by Likud’s MK Amit Halevi, proposing the division of the Temple Mount. The plan has caused great anger among the PA and in Jordan, with the Jordanian public expressing their discontent and the “Muslim Brotherhood” calling for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Amman.

Intelligence sources in the West report that ISIS is gaining ground in Afghanistan and several African countries. Israel is collaborating with Egypt and Western nations in the fight against ISIS. The organization has carried out attacks in Israel in recent years and is attempting to recruit Arab activists from Israel and East Jerusalem.

Senior officials in Fatah report the willingness of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to reconcile with his bitter political rival, Marwan Al-Barghouti, and designate him as his future successor.
Mahmoud Al-Alul, vice chairman of the Fatah movement, expresses concern about the decline of the movement’s standing on the Palestinian street. He states that the movement is seeking a candidate from the younger generation to succeed Mahmoud Abbas.

Egypt is trying to stabilize the calm in the Gaza Strip

Egypt invited the leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad to Cairo to stabilize the calm in the Gaza Strip and obtain their agreement for a long-term calm.
Hamas conveyed a message to Israel through Egyptian intelligence that an extensive operation by the IDF in northern Samaria against the armed terror groups would lead to a violation of the calm in the Gaza Strip.

Iran is trying to expand the vacuum left by the US in the Gulf through cooperation with Russia and China.

Despite the horrific murderous attack on Israel’s border with Egypt, there is no danger to the strategic relations between Israel and Egypt.
Israel sees the peace agreement with Egypt as an important pillar in its national security concept, the IDF and the Egyptian army will learn lessons and they are supposed to change the deployment of forces and security measures along the common border.

Shin Bet head Ronen Bar met in Washington with senior officials of the American administration and explained to them the security dangers in Judea and Samaria that undermine the stability of the PA.
The administration is concerned about the possibility of the PA collapsing and demands that Israel take steps to strengthen the PA, the problem is that the PA chairman has trouble helping himself.
