Iran is changing its strategy in the Middle East

Iran is pursuing a new strategy in the Middle East that is based on reconciliation with Arab countries with the aim of isolating Israel and harming the normalization process. At the same time, it continues to provoke Israel, strengthen the terrorist organizations and continue the multi-arena war of attrition against it.

According to Iranian sources, Iran has made a strategic decision to change its strategy in the Middle East, Iran’s new strategy is aimed at improving its position in the Middle East and among the international community, increasing Israel’s isolation and harming its normalization process with the Arab countries while increasing the multi-attrition war against her.

Iran’s new strategy was expressed by the Iranian journalist Kazem Zadeh in an article he recently published in the newspaper “Kharasan” under the title “Iran-Reconciliation Attack on Arab States and Increasing Threats to Israel”.

In his article he writes that the normalization project moved from Tel Aviv to Damascus in reference to the possibility of Syria’s return to the fold of the Arab League.

According to him, the next meeting of the Arab League will publish, for the first time, a statement defending the integrity and unity of the lands of Syria, something that will put an end to the Israeli adventures in Syria.

He detailed the advantages of Iran’s new strategy in the Middle East and wrote that I do not rule out that Iran will benefit from the easing of tensions between it and its Arab neighbors, this is an opportunity to increase its efforts to improve the response against Israel and strengthen its strategic surprise.

The rapprochement between Iran and the Arab countries will end Iran’s horror project and cause a nightmare for Israel.

As part of Iran’s new strategy, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will visit Damascus for the first time this week and meet with President Bashar Assad.

This is the first visit of an Iranian president to Syria since the outbreak of the Arab Spring in 2011, as you remember, Iran together with the militias loyal to it militarily helped President Bashar Assad to stay in power and take back control of most of the territories of Syria.

Hossein Akbari, Iran’s ambassador in Beirut, commented on the Iranian president’s visit to Damascus and said that Ibrahim Raisi’s visit to Syria is a turning point on the regional level.

The visit of the President of Iran to Syria is part of a series of steps that Iran is taking as part of its new strategy to improve its relations with Arab countries, apparently, it has come to the conclusion that improving its relations with the Sunni world will help it in its fight against Israel, the assessment of Western intelligence officials is that this is a temporary improvement of relationship only.

Ibrahim Raisi’s visit to Syria came after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s meeting with Iraqi President Abdellatif Rashid, during which Khamenei demanded that he expel American forces from Iraq, and after the highly publicized visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian to Lebanon.

Sources in Lebanon said that important developments in relations between Iran, Jordan and Egypt are also expected soon, as I recall, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abd Allahian recently met  recently with Jordanian Foreign Minister Iman al-Safadi.

Officials in the Jordanian Parliament are pressuring King Abdullah to improve relations with Iran in light of the reconciliation between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The new normalization between Iran and Arab countries is reflected in its policy towards Yemen and Syria.

Iran is working behind the scenes to achieve a ceasefire in the war in Yemen and to find a political solution to the long war in which Saudi Arabia is also involved, an exchange of prisoners has already taken place between the parties involved in the fighting and a Saudi delegation has visited Sana’a.

There is also progress in the normalization of Arab countries with Syria which is an integral part of the axis of resistance led by Iran, yesterday a meeting of foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq took place in Jordan with Syrian Foreign Minister Fayzel al-Miqdad.

Syria’s new normalization with Arab countries is taking place while Iran continues its military confrontation with Israel.

Iran is investing all its resources to pursue a new strategy of normalization with Arab countries while the US and Israel watch from the sidelines, Israel is concerned about these developments but cannot do much, on April 20 Prime Minister Netanyahu openly called on the Biden administration to increase its involvement in the Middle East .

I think that not only Israel, but in many ways most countries in the Middle East would welcome nothing more than American involvement in the Middle East, greater involvement,” he said. I think it is very important that the US be clear about its commitment and involvement in the Middle East.
